It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown...

by Channing Nye

Over the past month, Kelby and I (with the help of just about everyone) have put in sprinklers, laid a lawn, built a retaining wall, put the whooole house together, and have settled in quite nice!  It's really nice to finally be able to say that I LOVE our house!  It took a while to get to the point of actually enjoying it.  We just bought our amazing new TV, which is friggin schweet!!!  We've even had a couple of parties that were sooo much fun!  I absolutely love having people over.  It is so much to entertain people in our new house.

I have a ton of pictures on my camera, so I'm just going to post them all!!  Enjoy!

Bambina was my little bumble B for halloween =]  I thought it was clever because her nick name is "B"...if dogs can even have nick names.  And cute Lou Dog is her bff.  When he was a puppy, they used to play ALL the time...

...but then, one day Bambina decided to go and jump out of the car as I was driving 55 mph down redwood road!  Luckily everything was okay, but she had some scrapes on her.  Well, when they were playing one time, he hit one of her scrapes and for a while she was terrified of him.  Anytime he came over, she would hide under the bed.  So we were kind of skeptical of how they would do as room mates.  But man oh man did they fool us.  They LOVE each other!

The weekend before Halloween, my mom had a party. Her annual Halloween parties are ALWAYS a good time (and she is very proud of that fact :]).

These are pics of the family =]  Me and my sis Patrice, me and my mom, Kelby's parents Kathy & Gary, the whoole family <3 them! Me and Kathy, Lindsay me Patrice and Brittney, me and Kelby, and my daddy and me!!

I don't have pics, but the next day my dad came over and we made our annual PUmpKin cookies!!!  They are always sooo good!  If you thought you had good pumpkin cookies, you've never had ours!  I did under cook them a little this time though :(  So they were reaaaally moist, but we just let them sit out for a day, and VOILA!  Perfect!

Then on Halloween day, I made Kelby carve pumpkins with me, while we watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"...Truth is, I didn't have to make him, I know he truly liked it!

This is while we were carving.  Kelby was reaaaally into it.  I love that pic!  I carved a witch! and if you can't tell what he carved, you'll see in a second!

He carved a Bambina!!  cute huh!?  Kelsey's is the ghost, Patrice carved "Boo!" and I carved the witch!  And if you look closely, you can see the pumpkin face I carved that reflects onto the back wall. I absolutely looove carving pumpkins!! Holiday traditions are soo fun!

Along with all of the Halloween festivities, we managed to get our yard in...

The top left is all of the mulch we had to spread all over the yard, it took a whole day just to do that.  Once we had it down, we tilled the dirt and mulch together, and then we put the sod down. Thanks to June and my dad, we got a pond to put in the back yard!  It's definitely a work in progress.  We'll do most of the stuff next Spring!  My pride and joy project is that retaining wall!  It took FOREVER!  But I am soo glad it's all done!  It really looks soo good!  I'm going to plant bushes, and put a walkway/path back there.  It's going to be cute!  I can't wait!

Oh!  And after we spread the mulch out, Bambina thought it would be a good idea to go play in it!  She reaaallly loves to dig!

So that's basically what we've been up to!  I promise I will post pics of the house soon.  I need to get around to taking pictures of everything.  But since I have a loooong weekend ahead of me, maybe I'll find the time!  I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
