Well, yesterday was Kelby's 26th birthday!! He has grown into such a wonderful, loving man! I'm so lucky to have spent his past 5 birthdays with him. I can't wait to spend the next 60+ with him!
I gave him some portable speakers for his iPod that he can take everywhere with him. So of course, he went frolfing all day yesterday to test them out. He claims they worked awesome. Go me. haha.
After he went frolfing, we met his parents at our house. I was amazed when we walked into the house. All of the lights are on and working. It was all cleaned and ready for inspection. The gas fireplace even worked! You're probably thinking "duh," but I've seen everything that has gone on with this house so far, so it's a really cool experience to see the finished product. And lighting makes such a difference! If anyone is considering building a house, definitely definitely DEFINITELY get recessed can lights ALL over your house! It is so worth the money! I wish we would have done more, but oh well. Our final walk through is on Friday, so we'll go through and mark everything we want touched up or fixed. Then, next Wednesday, we close!! yay!!! So we should be moving in by the following weekend! We're so excited! Patrice (my sis) and Kelsey (her bf) are going to be moving in with us..along with their puppy Lou. It's going to be a full house, but we couldn't be more happy!OH! More good news, they unleashed a second home run grant! So not only do we get to enjoy the $8,000 tax credit for buying our house before December 1st, but we get $4,000 to help with our down payment! Everything is just working out ever so nicely :)
Here's just a few pictures of the house....
It's kind of hard to see, but it's all done! Yay!! the garage door still needs to be painted a khaki color, but other than that, it's finished!
Future homeowners!!
I absolutely HAD to get a picture of these pendant lights. They have been a world of chaos throughout this whole process. I'm surprised they were even installed!
Here's Kelby with his parents =] Aren't the Teeter's so cute! I can't wait to be one!
After we went through the house, Kelby and I headed off to dinner! We went to The Bohemian. Which was sooo good. They have AMAZING garlic fries! mmm....they were really really good! I really recommend going there sometime. It's worth it!
Well, that's pretty much the only updates so far...I'll write more when we've actually bought our house! Once this house mess is over, we can start planning a wedding! One stressful event after another.
